CHICKEN SUPREME! TRACEE ELLIS ROSS ADMITS ANDY WARHOL GAVE HER THE HEEBIE-JEEBIES
Growing up as Diana Ross’s child meant dodging pop art icons while trying to eat cereal in your pajamas.

Imagine you’re just a tiny Tracee Ellis Ross, trying to live your best life in a mansion full of sequins, and suddenly a man with a silver wig and a Polaroid camera is cornering you near the snack bowl. Tracee finally spilled the tea on her childhood trauma: she was absolutely terrified of her mom’s bestie, Andy Warhol. Apparently, the legendary artist’s vibe was less 'Campbell’s Soup' and more 'Haunted Doll' for the young starlet.
Tracee shared that while the rest of the world saw a visionary, she just saw a pale man lurking in the shadows of her mother’s fabulous parties. We can’t really blame her. Imagine waking up to grab a glass of water and bumping into the guy who turned a banana into high art. It’s a lot for a kid who just wants to watch cartoons and not be part of a conceptual photography series.
Now that she’s an icon herself, Tracee can laugh about the days she spent hiding under the velvet divans to avoid being immortalized in neon screen prints. It turns out that having Diana Ross as a mother isn’t all glitz and glamour; sometimes it’s just navigating a house full of eccentric geniuses who don't understand the concept of personal space or normal skin tones.
