Cloudy With a Chance of Custody: Jim Cantore’s Ex Wins Golden Umbrella
The storm-chaser admits his ex-wife deserves a trophy for handling the kids while he was busy yelling at a hurricane.

Listen, we all know Jim Cantore is the only man on earth who gets excited when a tree flies past his head at eighty miles per hour. But while the Weather Channel legend was out there leaning into 120-mph gusts and praying for a lightning strike, someone actually had to make sure the kids ate something other than emergency rations and rain runoff.
Jim finally came clean about his secret weapon: his ex-wife, Tamra Zinn. Apparently, while Jim was treating Every. Single. Thunderstorm. like a high-stakes action movie, Tamra was back home doing the real heavy lifting. It turns out that navigating a toddler’s tantrum is actually much harder than standing in a Category 4 surge, even if you don't get a cool branded windbreaker for it.
We hear Jim’s parenting style involved checking the barometric pressure before agreeing to a playdate and refusing to tuck the kids in unless there was a significant chance of precipitation. It’s hard to help with math homework when you’re literally tied to a telephone pole in Biloxi. Thankfully, Tamra was there to provide a calm front while Jim was reaching peak dew point.
Now that the kids are grown, Jim is showering Tamra with all the credit. It’s the ultimate forecast: 100% chance of gratitude with zero percent chance of him actually staying indoors when a tropical depression forms. Honestly, give the woman a medal—or at least a very sturdy raincoat.
