Licensed to Peel: Hollywood Face Sculptor Forced to Trade Laser for Loofah

Skincare guru Sonya Dakar turns in her professional badge after a client claims her face was treated like a cheap pepperoni pizza.

Honey, put down the chemical peel and step away from the steamer! Our favorite A-list skin magician Sonya Dakar has officially handed over her esthetician licenses, and the tea is hotter than a pore-cleansing towel. Usually, Sonya is the one making stars glow like they’ve swallowed a lightbulb, but one client says the only thing she got was a permanent interior-design makeover on her own forehead. Victoria Nelson apparently walked in looking for a refresh and walked out feeling like she’d been through a deli slicer. She sued for permanent scarring, claiming the treatment was less 'fountain of youth' and more 'active volcano.' Now, Sonya has surrendered her credentials to the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, which is basically the celebrity equivalent of being told you aren't allowed to touch a blackhead ever again. Imagine being Sonya and having to clear out your office. What do you even do with all those professional-grade acids? You can't exactly use them to clean the pool. We hear the aesthetician-to-the-stars is hanging up her lab coat for good, leaving the rest of the Hollywood elite to actually have to wash their own faces with—horror of horrors—regular sink water. It’s a sad day for vanity, but a great day for anyone who prefers their epidermis without a side of third-degree burns. Maybe she can pivot to professional cloud-watching? It’s much lower risk for the complexion.
