Mackenzie Phillips Fired for Having Too Much Fun During the Disco Era
Television executives were apparently shocked that a teenager in the 1970s wasn't spending her Friday nights knitting doilies.

Mackenzie Phillips is taking a stroll down memory lane, and honestly, the scenery is mostly just angry producers holding very boring pieces of paper. She recently opened up about getting the boot from 'One Day at a Time' thanks to a 'morals clause' that basically demanded she act like a nun in platform shoes.
Apparently, the suits back in the day actually thought a sitcom star should be a paragon of virtue, which is hilarious considering the outfits they made her wear. Mackenzie’s contract had more rules than a Victorian boarding school, and the moment she stopped being a perfect little angel, the network execs acted like she’d personally invented the concept of a party.
Imagine getting fired because you were too cool for a living room set built in 1975. Mackenzie is laughing it off now, but it turns out the only thing 'One Day at a Time' couldn't handle was one day of a teenager actually living her life. It’s hard out here for a disco legend!
